
About Alesha
Alesha Perkins is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Virginia and North Carolina, and a Certified Case Manager with over 20 years of experience in the social work field. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Master of Social Work from the University of Central Florida.
Her career spans a wide range of specialties including medical social work, child protective services, case management, mental health, and substance use counseling. Alesha’s instructional journey began over a decade ago, training dialysis providers, and has since grown to include designing and facilitating workshops for medical and mental health professionals, as well as state and national organizations.
Alesha is a dedicated advocate for mental health equity who is committed to reducing disparities through education, outreach, and empowerment within underserved and minority communities. Her leadership extends beyond clinical practice, having served as President of the True Blue Toastmasters Club, Mentorship Chair for North Carolina Society for Clinical Social Work, and Career Committee Chair for the African American Black Employee Network, where she has mentored and supported emerging professionals and leaders.
In 2022, Alesha earned 1st Place in the Toastmasters International Speech Contest for District 117, recognizing her exceptional public speaking and commitment to inspiring meaningful change. In 2026, she was selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who in recognition of her professional accomplishments, leadership, education, and contributions to the field.
Professionally, Alesha serves as the Manager of Behavioral Health Case Management for a leading health insurance provider. She owns Alesha Perkins Clinical and Consulting Services PLLC, where she offers a variety of mental health and consulting services. In addition, she is co-owner of Perkins Medical Services LLC, a family-owned training organization founded and led by her mother, an experienced nurse educator. For more than 20 years, Perkins Medical Services LLC has provided high-quality medical and mental health training to professionals working in childcare centers, residential facilities, and behavioral health agencies.
Alesha’s work is grounded in authenticity and compassion. As a mother and therapist, she uses her personal journey to connect deeply with others—especially women—offering encouragement, resilience, and hope. Her mission is to help individuals overcome adversity and embrace their path to healing and success.
